Hamster Cages
Hamsters need cages depending on their size. A normal cage could probably fit maximum two dwarf hamsters or one normal hamster. Cages need to have a hole where you can put a water bottle in and it would be useful to have platforms and tunnels around. You can buy these things in any pet shop.

Food and Water
Hamsters need food to survive as any other animal. They normally eat hamster muesli, sunflower seeds, carrots, apples (sometimes), lettuce and treats like special hamster chocolate or hamster biscuits. Anything that is for hamsters is fine. Hamsters also need water and are trained to drink out of a water bottle. You have to be careful not to get your hamster wet as some hamsters, like dwarf hamsters, can get very ill from wet tail.

Getting started
When you first get your hamster you have to let it settle in the environment for 3 days and then you can start interacting with it. Some hamsters love to be held so be sure to play them at least once a day. Hamsters can turn wild if you don't interact with them for 3 weeks. If you are too scared to hold your hamsters, at least stroke them!

Exercise
Hamsters need a lot of exercise to keep fit so it is good to let them roam free around your house (supervised by you of course). Or if you are worried or uncomfortable about doing things, make sure they stroll around their cage for a bit or go on the hamster wheel. It is very important they get the exercise they need so they can be healthy and happy.
